Let me introduce you to my version of the fiddle bow bread knife and bread boaard. This style of bread knife has its origins in the Appalachian mountains where the natives of that region perfected the shape of this unusual bread knife.The distinctive shape of the bow helps keep the blade nice and taut while cutting and the natural curve also acts as a reference point for the thickness of the slices. The stainless steel blade is razor sharp and is the perfect blade for cutting even the softest sourdough bread.
I designed the bread board to compliment the knife. A small rare earth magnet is attached to the side of the little block of wood that catches the knife that holds it firmly in place even when hanging up on the wall.
