Handmade Adirondack chair and Footstool made to order. Perfectly contoured seat and backrest to ensure ultimate comfort. Finished with Sikkens Teak Oil.

Made to order. Lead time 3-4 weeks.

The famous Adirondack chair design was invented way back in 1900 by a man by the name of Thomas Lee. He wanted to design a chair that was rugged enough to withstand the harsh terrain around the Adirondack mountains but still be comfortable to sit on. The chair's main characteristics are wide armrests, a tall slatted back and a seat that is higher in the front than the back.

This is my interpretation of that chair. Made from solid Sapele hardwood timber, with very little care this chair will last a lifetime and beyond. Add the stool and table and you have the perfect patio set.

The chair can be purchased on its own , with the stool or as a complete set of 2 chairs, 2 stools, a table and 2 bespoke headrest support cushions.

TOP TIPS TO CARE FOR YOUR ADIRONDACK FURNITURE

1. Wash furniture down with a mild detergent. This reduces the build up of mildew and bacteria over the winter.

2. Recoat furniture with a suitable oil before storing. This allows the oil to penetrate the wood slowly over the winter months. Also when spring comes round again your furniture is ready to go. Who takes theirs out in the spring and then oils it!! Not me.

3. Store indoors for the winter if at all possible. DO NOT put your furniture indoors while it is still wet. Wait for a dry day.

If you apply these simple tips then your Adirondack chairs will last a lifetime. I have loads of experience on all sorts of oils and paints suitable for outdoor furniture. So please contact me if you have any questions regarding your furniture.
